Our end of term ESOL party, sharing food from around the world.

We are now recruiting for our courses running in the summer term. If you would like to enrol in our Family Literacy or our Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities please sign up in the office with Mrs Shipp. It's a great opportunity to increase your skills, while making new friends within our community.

This week we learnt how to make Thai food with our resident Thai chef.

Level 2 food health and safety, Wednesday 1.00pm-3.00pm 27/04/2016-8.06/2016


Strengthening Families, Strengthening communities, running Friday mornings 9.00am-12.00pm. A great opportunity to meet other parents and learn strategies to support your child as they grow from toddlers to teenagers.


Family Literacy, Thursday afternoons 1.30pm-3.30pm. A chance to improve your literacy skills alongside your children, phonics, guided reading, writing and grammar.


Continuing our Parent Workshops. If you have any skills; cooking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, sports, and would like to demonstrate to other parents on Fridays 2.00pm please let Diane or Nuzhat know to book a date.  

This week we made somosas from Uzbekistan with a BIG rolling pin.

Family Maths, fun learning all the way!

Courses starting this term

27/01/2016 Our community nurses are coming in to run a Healthy Eating Workshop. Come along to find out how to support your family to maintain a healthy weight and diet. Setting up good routines and choices now will stay with them for the rest of their lives.


10 week Family Numeracy course Starting 14/01/2016, running every week from 1.30pm -3.30pm. An opportunity to learn the strategies taught in school while improving your skills.  You will learn lots of fun activities to play with your child to support them with their maths. The last 30 minutes will be spent on one of theses activities with your child. Please sign up with Ms Shipp and let us know if you require crèche facilities.

What's happening in school now


Our ESOL classes continue on Wednesday afternoon 1.15pm-3.15pm. Please come along if you wish to improve your English

Our parent workshops continue on Friday afternoons 2.00pm-3.30pm. We have completed our happiness workshop and our now  progressing to block screen printing scarves. We hope future workshops to include cooking, massage, yoga, beauty and many more. Come along and share a cup of tea biscuits, chat and new skills.

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning

It was lovely to see so many parents supporting our coffee morning. It was a huge success raising £286.56 for Macmillan.

We obviously have a number of very talented parents within our community.

We are currently running our Happiness Workshop on a Friday afternoon at 2.00pm. Do come along and get involved. if you have a talent you would like to share please speak to Diane or Nuzhat and we can organise an afternoon for your activity.



Paediatric First Aid Course

Babs and Alan are running drop-in sessions on Mondays and Tuesday 9.00am-9.30am to discuss any concerns you may have with your child's welfare and education.


You are invited to come along and read with a child at our Reader's Cafe on Thursdays 3.00pm-3.30pm.


Diane and Nuzhat are running parent activity sessions on Fridays 2.00pm - 3.25pm. An opportunity to meet other parents and enjoy an activity together. If you have a talent to share with the rest of us (flower arranging, origami, cooking) we need you!

Our first session is 2nd October. Come along and join us. We will have chat, tea and biscuits.
